Ms Ericson 1974 Ericson E35

This classic Ericson Sloop from 1974 has been brought back to her former glory. Designed by the legendary Bruce King, the Ericson 35 Mk II is highly regarded for her sleek lines, robust build quality, and excellent performance on the Great Lakes. This specific vessel has been actively sailed on Lake Michigan for the past five years and is fully ready to sail. This is also one of Bruce King's models that featured more classic teak accents. She has good overall deck space, and classic overhangs characteristic of 1970s racer/cruisers.
The Fin keel with spade rudder provides not only stability while under sail, but excellent helm wheel responsiveness. Unlike many boats of this vintage, the critical infrastructure, electronics, and hull maintenance on this Ericson have already been modernized.
The helm features a brand-new binnacle compass for reliable navigation. This boat (currently with no name) has been completely rewired and replumbed throughout for electrical and plumbing completed in 2020.
The engine is an Atomic 4 - very reliable given her age - and is tucked under the aft end of the dinette, in the main cabin. Our Shipwright Ferd gives high marks for engine accessibility, and it keeps the weight in the middle of the boat.
The mast has been recently pulled and updated with brand-new wiring, new lights, a new Windex, and new sheaves (pulleys). With a freshly painted exterior, the hull shines bright, The interior is clean, welcoming, and feels like a breath of fresh air yacht with excellent natural light. Speaking of, no "old boat smell" when coming down below deck.
The dining salon is bright and airy with a roomy layout, great for reviewing charts or dining for 6. The owner includes the flatscreen TV and a microwave in the galley. with 6' +headroom, taller sailors wont be banging their heads.
The galley is spacious for a "skinny lady", with a deep sink, ample countertop space, and plenty of storage for extended cruising and a large icebox for keeping food and beverages cold for a surprisingly long time.
There's a generous forward V-berth, private marine head, and a starboard quarter berth. The salon includes a dinette table that converts into a double bunk, plus an additional single settee. Astonishingly, this boat can sleep 5 to 6 close quarters sailors! There is also plenty of locker space especially a large, tall locker next to the head that can hold not only your foulies, but a cocktail dress or two!
Her "bottom" has been freshly prepped and painted with premium VC 17m anti-fouling paint (ideal for friction reduction and performance in freshwater).
Seller will throw in Life sling, horseshoe throw, framework for dodger, 2 danforth anchors, life jacks, Boson's chair, jack stands too! (see below for full list)
Lady "NO NAME" has been sailed in fresh water the past few decades, the number of owners previous to current owner is unknown nor name.
On the bright side, you won't need to go through the superstitious christening "NAME CHANGE" ritual!
She is currently on the hard at Racine Riverside Marina. Call Ferd to set up a showing!
